It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

It needed as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It is hard for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to produce her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her debut and seven world titles have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Certain people claim the case for final game tension. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a disappointing period because it seemed I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit activate and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the belief to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if we do, we are confident we can do it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this championship is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a global event as captain.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
